Since the Green Bay Packers‘ divisional-round exit on Saturday night, the attention has shifted from Super Bowl dreams to a potential rebuild.

With Aaron Rodgers’ future up in the air, a salary cap mess, and a long list of free agents including Davante Adams, De’Vondre Campbell, and Rasul Douglas, it’s understandable why many think the Packers’ Super Bowl window has shut.

Until free agency plays out and we know who will be back, it’s tough to get a good idea of the direction of this team. But with everything we know now, let’s break down each position on the roster for 2022.

Note: All salary cap details are according to Spotrac.

Quarterback

Under contract in 2022: Aaron Rodgers, Jordan Love, Kurt Benkert, Danny Etling

Offseason need: Possible, depending on Rodgers’ future

The million-dollar question this offseason surrounds Rodgers’ future. This is the big one. If Rodgers returns, it indicates the Packers plan to make some salary cap moves to remain competitive. If he goes, the dominos could soon fall and the team will be forced to enter rebuild mode.

If Rodgers retires or gets traded, Jordan Love will finally get his opportunity. But that doesn’t necessarily mean QB won’t be an offseason need.

The confidence of Matt LaFleur and Brian Gutekunst on Love would be important to any offseason decisions. Based on what we’ve seen from Love so far, there’s no guarantee the Packers wouldn’t add some competition.

Again, it’s all on Rodgers’ future.
