Packers: Four-round mock draft featuring Aaron Rodgers blockbuster trade
Packers four-round mock draft including a blockbuster Aaron Rodgers trade.
Outside of Aaron Rodgers himself, nobody knows what’s next for the future Hall-of-Fame quarterback and the Green Bay Packers.
Was Rodgers’ poor playoff performance against the San Francisco 49ers the final time he will play a game at Lambeau Field? Will it be his final game in the NFL? At this stage, anything is possible.
One possibility would see the Packers trade Rodgers to another team, most likely in the AFC, and rebuild. Rodgers would move to a team where winning now is a possibility, while the Packers stock up on draft picks, get some salary-cap relief by moving on, and start over.
We’ll explore this idea in this four-round mock draft. In this scenario, Rodgers commits to playing in 2022 but requests a trade. In the Denver Broncos, a team potentially a QB away from competing in the AFC, Green Bay finds a trade partner.
It would likely result in a difficult 2022 season without their MVP quarterback, but the upside of trading Rodgers for a boatload of picks is it would help speed up the rebuilding process if those picks are put to good use.
So, here we go. Let’s start with the blockbuster trade.
