Packers: 3 potential Davante Adams tag-and-trade destinations
Denver Broncos
This is the one everyone is talking about. Imagine the Packers put together a blockbuster trade that sent both Adams and Aaron Rodgers to the Denver Broncos. If that were to happen, the Packers would have to demand a lot in return. We’re talking multiple first-round picks — at least three — as well as Day 2 picks and players.
Not only would the Broncos be getting the back-to-back MVP and the NFL’s best wide receiver, but also the connection the two have together. It can take time for a QB and WR to build chemistry, but these two have been unstoppable together for years. Put Adams and Rodgers together in Denver and that team is an immediate Super Bowl contender.
If the Broncos were willing to package multiple first-rounders, including this year’s ninth overall pick, and possibly some young players like wide receiver Jerry Jeudy and cornerback Patrick Surtain II, maybe a deal could be made.
Denver has $38.76 million in cap room, more than enough to take on Rodgers’ salary and pay Adams what he wants. For Adams and Rodgers, it would be an ideal landing spot, playing in what will likely be a familiar system under former Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett. The Broncos would also be serious AFC contenders.
For it to work, the Packers would need to receive a lot back in return. Enough to be willing to trade away the best QB-to-WR connection in the NFL with the resources to rebuild.
