Wide receiver

Unrestricted free agents: Davante Adams, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Equanimeous St. Brown

Restricted free agents: Allen Lazard

Exclusive rights free agents: Malik Taylor

It would have been easier to just list the wide receivers who don’t have expiring contracts this offseason. Almost all of the Packers’ top wide receivers are set to hit free agency. The only exception is Randall Cobb, but there’s a chance Cobb is released due to his 2022 cap hit.

Of course, the biggest decision is with Davante Adams. Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the expectation is that the Packers will use the franchise tag on Adams. It’s understandable given how important he is to the team, but it sure won’t help the Packers’ salary cap issues. Working out a long-term deal after this would have to be the top priority.

Re-signing Adams could make it difficult to bring back either Marquez Valdes-Scantling or Equanimeous St. Brown. As Allen Lazard is a restricted free agent, it will be easier for the Packers to bring him back.

Perhaps a realistic possibility will see Adams and Lazard return, but MVS, EQ, and Taylor sign elsewhere. Cobb could also be gone if he’s released.

The Packers would need Amari Rodgers to take on a bigger role in year two and also draft a couple of wide receivers.
