While the NFL world awaits Aaron Rodgers‘ decision on his future — one that will have an impact on multiple teams — more and more predictions seem to have him returning to the Green Bay Packers in 2022.

From the Packers hiring Tom Clements as their new QBs coach to Rodgers naming Mark Murphy and Brian Gutekunst in his MVP speech to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reporting that the two sides are “in negotiations” over a new deal, there’s perhaps good reason for optimism.

With the new league year only two weeks away, ESPN’s Field Yates has predicted the starting quarterbacks in 2022 for every NFL team. For the Packers, it’s Aaron Rodgers.

Yates wrote:

"“It has been a rollercoaster 10 months since the news first broke of Rodgers’ frustrations in Green Bay, but a run-it-back season feels — at the moment — most likely. And Green Bay will again be amongst the best teams in the NFL this season.”"

One way or another, we should know very soon.

The deadline for the Packers to franchise tag Davante Adams is next week, something Rodgers has made note of in recent months. The new league year is two weeks away with free agency unofficially beginning two days earlier with the “legal tampering window”.

It would be a huge surprise if Rodgers hadn’t made his decision by then as it would directly impact the Packers’ offseason plans, and also a potential new team.

It’s hard to disagree with Field Yates.

All signs seem to be pointing one way, and that’s Aaron Rodgers returning to the Packers. The fact Ian Rapoport reported the two sides are working on a contract extension is perhaps the biggest clue. If nothing else, it shows Rodgers is open to a return, else why even begin to negotiate a new contract?

Of course, the only person that knows for sure is Rodgers himself.

The back-to-back MVP said he wouldn’t drag out his decision. In the coming days, we should find out his plans for the 2022 season and beyond.

Do you think Aaron Rodgers will be back with the Packers?
