Packers: Free agent Lucas Patrick is the definition of a Packer
Lucas Patrick has been a very, very underrated and important asset for the Green Bay Packers ever since he was signed as an undrafted rookie out of Duke in 2016.
There are a few reasons for that. First off, he is extremely versatile. Throughout his career, he has developed into a lineman that can play both the center and guard spots.
This past season, after rookie center Josh Myers went down with a knee injury, Patrick earned the opportunity to take on that role. He started 13 of the 17 regular-season games and was called for just four penalties. Outstanding.

There was one particular moment when all Packers fans should have realized that Lucas Patrick was a true Green Bay Packer. In a late season game vs. the Atlanta Falcons in 2018, Aaron Rodgers escaped the pocket and attempted to run for a first down.
As he went to slide, he took a big hit from a Falcons DB. The first person to get in the player’s face was Lucas Patrick. He wasn’t going to back down from anybody, especially when it comes to defending his teammates. Not only is Patrick’s play exceptional when he is called upon, but his leadership and bond with his teammates is incredible.
In 73 career games and 2,492 career snaps, Patrick has committed just eight total penalties.
Josh Myers is a fantastic young player for the Green Bay Packers. Assuming his knee is healthy by next fall, he definitely should be the starting center. But Patrick is irreplaceable. He has been a part of the Packers’ offensive line longer than anyone on the roster besides All-Pro LT David Bakhtiari.
He can play multiple positions. He definitely has the support of his teammates. He is a blue collar type of player. He is a true Green Bay Packer. He cannot walk out that door as a free agent. Make it happen Green Bay.
