Packers would not like to see Za’Darius Smith sign with these three teams
1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
With Tom Brady going back on his decision to retire, the entire landscape of the NFC has been shifted. Once facing an uncertain future without a quarterback, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are now again an NFC powerhouse, and you can bet they will be going all-in to try to win another Lombardi Trophy.
Tampa Bay could look to strengthen its pass rush as Jason Pierre-Paul is a free agent.
For an all-in team focusing on the short term, signing Smith is the type of championship move they need to make. The Buccaneers already have an excellent defense but they could do with getting star pass rusher Shaquil Barrett some more help on the edge. That’s where Smith could come in.
The Packers play the Buccaneers on the road this season and, if they want to end their Super Bowl drought, they may need to get past Tampa Bay in January.
The reason I have them ahead of the 49ers is the quarterback situation. San Francisco will have second-year Trey Lance at QB. Tampa Bay gets back the greatest of all time.
Brady’s return is bad news for the Packers in the NFC. Now imagine having to play against Za’Darius Smith in the NFC Championship Game.
