Four former Green Bay Packers players looking for new teams in 2022.

As expected, the Green Bay Packers‘ focus this week has been re-signing players and making moves to get under the salary cap.

Bringing back All-Pro inside linebacker De’Vondre Campbell is the big move the Packers needed to make, but they did release All-Pro edge rusher Za’Darius Smith and starting right tackle Billy Turner.

As free agency officially begins on Wednesday afternoon, four former Packers will be searching for new teams. Could Green Bay have interest in re-signing any of them?

The Cleveland Browns released veteran interior offensive lineman JC Tretter this week. Tretter has been one of the most reliable centers in the NFL in recent years, but during his time in Green Bay, he played just about everywhere.

Tretter spent time at center, guard, and even tackle with the Packers. He was a versatile lineman who the Packers could depend on when they needed him. But with a star-studded offensive line that featured David Bakhtiari, Josh Sitton, Corey Linsley, T.J. Lang, and Bryan Bulaga, Tretter was only needed when injuries hit.

Tretter had a great career in Cleveland, starting 80 games. Could the 31-year-old return to Green Bay? The Packers do need to strengthen their interior offensive line depth after losing Lucas Patrick, but this seems unlikely.

Tretter will likely get paid well to be a starting center elsewhere, whereas in Green Bay, he might need to shift to guard.
