The Green Bay Packers have a huge need at wide receiver after trading Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders.

Could the answer come from one of the Raiders’ division rivals?

The idea of trading for six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Tyreek Hill would have seemed impossible only minutes ago. Well, maybe not anymore.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Chiefs have given Hill permission to seek a trade after contract talks broke down.

Wow.

There are a few reasons why the Packers might not be able to make this work. For starters, the Chiefs will likely want, at minimum, what the Packers received in the Adams trade. That would be picks in the opening two rounds.

Then there is the fact Hill would land a huge deal wherever he ends up. The Packers have more cap space with Adams gone, but could they pay Hill what he wants?

Finally, the Chiefs might prefer to trade Hill elsewhere and not to another Super Bowl contender, even if they do play in the NFC.

However, if the Packers could find an agreement that suits them. One with draft picks they are OK giving away to make it happen. If they could agree a long-term deal with Hill. For an all-in team, there’s no denying the impact he could make in Green Bay’s offense.

Hill is one of the best receivers in the game. A big play waiting to happen. With his incredible speed, Hill has been a matchup nightmare for every team he’s faced.

In the past five seasons, he has put up 6,037 receiving yards and 50 touchdowns.

Hill has been a Pro Bowler six seasons in a row. A first-team All-Pro three times and a second-team All-Pro once. One of the fastest players and best receivers in the NFL, Hill would end the Packers’ search for a new WR1.

Will they be able to match what the Chiefs want in a deal? Will they be able to meet Hill’s contract demands? That’s uncertain. But if the Packers pull it off, there’s no doubting the impact he could make on offense.
