Packers three-round mock draft featuring trade for wide receiver
Packers three-round mock draft including a trade for a wide receiver.
Only one month away from the 2022 NFL Draft, it’s almost time for the Green Bay Packers to draft a first-round wide receiver. Right? Will the wait finally end?
With Davante Adams and Marquez Valdes-Scantling gone, there’s every chance the Packers finally make it happen.
That brings us to the latest three-round mock draft. And, yes, it starts with a wide receiver in the first round.
Note: I used The Draft Network’s premium version of the mock draft machine, which allows trades, to complete this mock.
Round 1 (22): Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State
Aaron Rodgers has thrown to some great wide receivers over the years, from Adams to Jordy Nelson to Greg Jennings to Donald Driver. Is Chris Olave the next great Packers receiver?
In terms of drafting a wide receiver who can make an instant impact this year, you won’t find many better than Ohio State’s Olave. With great speed and phenomenal route-running, Olave is one of the most polished receivers in the class and could make a difference from Day 1 in the Packers’ offense.
Olave is also an excellent deep threat, which the Packers desperately need after losing Valdes-Scantling in free agency.
The Packers have a lot of work to do to rebuild their receiving corps. Drafting Olave would be fantastic start and he could be a 1,000-yard receiver as a rookie.
