Round 1 (28): Zion Johnson, OL, Boston College

No wide receiver in the first round? It’s on brand for the Packers, but don’t worry, there is a plan. More on that in a moment.

For now, Green Bay adds one of the best offensive linemen in the class. The Packers need to add some talent after losing starting right tackle Billy Turner and versatile interior lineman Lucas Patrick this offseason. Especially with both David Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins coming off significant injuries.

Zion Johnson is another great athlete with an RAS of 9.74 out of 10. He also offers a lot of versatility as he can start at either guard spot or at center, and he even has some experience at tackle.

Johnson could immediately start at guard for the Packers and help line up just about anywhere along the line when injuries hit. Green Bay loves versatility from its offensive linemen, and Johnson has exactly that.

No matter which position he bests fits in, Johnson would be ready to go from Day 1 and, learning from coach Adam Stenavich, could become a longtime starter along the Packers’ offensive line.

Green Bay has an excellent track record of drafting offensive linemen. Maybe Johnson will be the next great one for the Packers.

In the first round, the Packers strengthen both lines.
