Round 2 (37): Christian Watson, WR, North Dakota State

Now the focus shifts to wide receiver. With the 37th overall pick acquired from the Texans, the Packers pick a draft favorite among fans this offseason, Christian Watson.

Many mock drafts have Watson falling to the second round, but it would be no surprise if he goes on Day 1.

Watson is 6-foot-4, 208 pounds. He has the size. But he also ran a 4.36 40-yard dash and has an RAS of 10 out of a possible 10. Watson could be a starter on the outside in Green Bay’s offense, but he was also used on jet sweeps and kick returns at North Dakota State.

With elite speed and athleticism, the sky is the limit for Watson, who could become the Packers’ next WR1 in time.

“He could emerge as one of the best pass-catchers in this class,” wrote NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah.

While the Packers do miss out on potential first-round receivers like Chris Olave, Treylon Burks, and Jahan Dotson in this mock draft, there is good depth at the position. If a player like Watson falls to the second round, the Packers should be willing to trade up to get him.

With a bonus pick in this mock from the Love trade, Watson at No. 37 makes too much sense.
