Round 3 (92): Abraham Lucas, OT, Washington State

After addressing needs at edge rusher, safety, wide receiver, and defensive tackle, the attention shifts to offensive tackle in the third round. Many mock drafts project that Washington State’s Abraham Lucas will fall to the third. If he’s available at No. 92, it would be perfect for the Packers.

Lucas is 6-foot-6, 315 pounds, and can be a future starting right tackle in the NFL. He was named a first-team All-Pac 12 in 2021.

The Packers need some more tackle depth in the short term. They released starting right tackle Billy Turner this offseason, while Dennis Kelly remains a free agent. David Bakhtiari will be returning from a significant injury and Elgton Jenkins could miss the start of 2022 due to a torn ACL.

In year one, Lucas could compete with Yosh Nijman to start with Jenkins out. Long term, he could become the Packers’ starter at right tackle, allowing Jenkins to play at guard.

The Packers have done a great job of building offensive line depth through the draft, and we should expect them to do the same later this month. Abraham Lucas in the third round would make a ton of sense.

What do you think would be a dream mock draft for the Packers?
