Packers 2022 three-round mock draft with a trade for one of the top wide receivers in the class.

In less than two weeks, the Green Bay Packers will hit the clock twice in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft unless they trade one of those picks, of course.

The Packers have been relatively quiet in free agency, losing more players than they have signed. The two notable additions they have made are defensive tackle Jarran Reed and wide receiver Sammy Watkins. Both will help at areas of need.

Barring any more pre-draft additions, the Packers have needs primarily at edge rusher and wide receiver, but also safety and the offensive line.

Round 1 (22): George Karlaftis, EDGE, Purdue

Purdue’s George Karlaftis could be gone before No. 22, but some mock drafts have him falling to this spot.

Karlaftis ticks a lot of boxes the Packers look for in the first round. He is a tremendous athlete with a Relative Athletic Score (RAS) of 9.18 out of 10.

He also turned 21 earlier this month. The Packers tend to draft younger players in the first round. Eric Stokes was 22 when he was drafted. Jordan Love, Rashan Gary, Darnell Savage, and Jaire Alexander were all 21.

Karlaftis plays a premium position. One the Packers need help at. He has all the tools to become a special player in the NFL.

“Karlaftis is a hard-working, athletic pass rusher with a large upside,” wrote Pro Football Network’s Tony Pauline.

Karlaftis can become an excellent pass rusher for the Packers, but he’s also one of the best run defenders among this EDGE class. Karlaftis at No. 22 would be a dream start.
