Draft week is here. The wait is almost over for the Green Bay Packers, who will pick twice on night one.

Analysts are publishing their final mock drafts, trying to predict how things will play out on Thursday night.

One name stands out for the Packers this week: George Karlaftis.

NFL Mocks

George Karlaftis, EDGE, Purdue and Dax Hill, S, Michigan

This mock draft by Jacob Schyvinck of NFL Mocks has Green Bay adding two defensive players on Day 1.

Yes, there is no wide receiver here, but if the Packers leave the first round with Purdue edge rusher George Karlaftis and Michigan safety Dax Hill, they should be absolutely delighted.

Karlaftis is one of the best pass rushers in the class. Hill can play safety or slot corner, and both at a high level. These two players would improve the Packers’ defense in a big way.

With the First Pick

Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State and Skyy Moore, WR, Western Michigan

Geoffrey Godfrey of With the First Pick has things playing out differently.

Not only does Green Bay finally draft a first-round wide receiver, it does it twice. With his smooth route-running and speed, Chris Olave would be a great pick.

Skyy Moore isn’t the type of receiver the Packers usually go for early. He is 5-foot-10, 195 pounds. However, there is no denying his talent and, after selecting their future WR1 in Olave, Moore could make sense as a complement to the Ohio State receiver.

The Draft Network

George Karlaftis, EDGE, Purdue and George Pickens, WR, Georgia

Justin Melo of The Draft Network also has the Packers selecting Karlaftis at No. 22. No complaints here about that pick.

Melo went with Georgia wide receiver George Pickens, who has the size and athleticism the Packers love.

CBS Sports

Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas and Nakobe Dean, LB, Georgia

In this mock draft, Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports has Green Bay landing Arkansas receiver Treylon Burks, who has great size and is dominant after the catch. Many have compared Burks to Deebo Samuel.

If Nakobe Dean falls to No. 28, the Packers should take him. He is a defensive leader and a three-down linebacker with Pro Bowl potential.

After ignoring the position for far too long, entering 2022 with a combination of De’Vondre Campbell and Dean would be a lot of fun.
