Packers 2022 Draft Day 3: Best prospects, team needs, remaining picks
Packers Day 3 draft preview.
Welcome to Day 3 of the 2022 NFL Draft. The Green Bay Packers are scheduled to pick six times on Saturday.
So far, they have made four selections.
In the first round, they went all defense with Georgia teammates, inside linebacker Quay Walker and defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt.
Green Bay kicked off Day 2 with a huge trade-up for North Dakota State wide receiver Christian Watson before adding offensive line depth with UCLA’s Sean Rhyan in the third round.
Best prospects remaining for Packers on Day 3
Zyon McCollum, CB, Sam Houston State
Cornerback isn’t a huge need for Green Bay, but the team could look to add some depth on Day 3. McCollum could be a player to watch if he falls to No. 132.
Daniel Faalele, OT, Minnesota
Rhyan will most likely play guard for the Packers, so they could look to bolster their tackle depth. Faalele would be a solid choice.
Kingsley Enagbare, EDGE, South Carolina
A young, talented pass rusher for the Packers to develop. They need some depth behind their starting duo of Rashan Gary and Preston Smith.
Kellen Diesch, OT, Arizona
Another tackle the Packers could consider on Day 3 is Diesch. He is an excellent athlete.
Daniel Bellinger, TE, San Diego State
Another way the Packers can help Aaron Rodgers is at tight end. Bellinger would be a player to develop and a potential future TE1 in Green Bay.
When do the Packers pick on Day 3?
- Round 4 (No. 132 overall)
- Round 4 (No. 140)
- Round 5 (No. 171)
- Round 7 (No. 228)
- Round 7 (No. 249)
- Round 7 (No. 258)
What are the Packers’ draft needs on Day 3?
Wide receiver: Even after drafting Christian Watson, Green Bay could do with adding another pass-catcher at some point on Day 3.
Edge rusher: Devonte Wyatt will help as an interior pass rusher, but a top priority should be finding a backup edge rusher.
Safety: Can Green Bay find a solid backup safety in the later rounds?
Tackle: Not a huge need, but if Rhyan is a guard for Green Bay, adding a backup tackle would make sense.
