Packers 53-man roster predictions following 2022 NFL Draft
Specialists (3)
Mason Crosby, Pat O’Donnell, Steven Wirtel
Despite his struggles last season, the Packers appear to be sticking with veteran kicker Mason Crosby.
Crosby missed a total of nine field goals in the regular season and one more in the playoffs. He posted his worst field goal percentage since a career-low in 2012.
However, not all of it was on him. Crosby regularly had to deal with awful protection up front and some mistakes from those around him. With Rich Bisaccia taking over as special teams coordinator, we should see some improvements on this side of the ball, which will help Crosby.
The Packers have brought in veteran punter Pat O’Donnell, who spent eight seasons with the Chicago Bears. O’Donnell should have no issues punting in cold weather, having done it for almost a decade in Chicago.
He should give the Packers some stability at punter.
Where the team may look to upgrade is at long snapper. Steven Wirtel struggled in this role, so Green Bay may look to make a change.
Overall, the Packers should be much improved on special teams this year. Hiring Bisaccia was a perfect start. They have since brought in some talented special teams contributors in the draft.
