Packers 53-man roster predictions following 2022 NFL Draft
Wide receivers (6)
Allen Lazard, Sammy Watkins, Christian Watson, Randall Cobb, Amari Rodgers, Romeo Doubs
It’s a new-look wide receiver room in Green Bay.
Davante Adams, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and Equanimeous St. Brown are gone. In comes Sammy Watkins, Christian Watson, and Romeo Doubs.
The Packers also drafted Samori Toure in the seventh round, who will compete for a roster spot.
A day after the draft, it’s unclear who will be the WR1 in Green Bay this season. Christian Watson has all the tools to get there, but it may take some development.
In all likelihood, the Packers won’t have a true WR1 this season but will instead spread the ball around.
Watson and Romeo Doubs have great speed and can stretch defenses vertically.
Allen Lazard is a reliable pass-catcher and an excellent run-blocker. Sammy Watkins provides experience.
The Packers will also be hoping Amari Rodgers can make a second-year jump. Don’t forget about him. Green Bay traded up to get him in the third round a year ago.
Randall Cobb should still see plenty of targets. He has chemistry with Aaron Rodgers and showed he can still be a reliable target in the slot last season.
Green Bay improved the wide receiver room in the draft, but questions remain.
