Tight ends (4)

Marcedes Lewis, Josiah Deguara, Dominique Dafney, Tyler Davis

PUP list: Robert Tonyan

Tight end was an area the Packers could’ve addressed during the draft but chose not to.

They do return a talented group in 2022.

Robert Tonyan could miss the start of the season as he recovers from a torn ACL. If he has to miss some time, he could begin the year on the PUP list.

While it was somewhat surprising the Packers didn’t draft a tight end, one name that came up this weekend was Tyler Davis.

“I think we might have something there,” said Packers GM Brian Gutekunst on Saturday, discussing Davis.

Davis was a sixth-round pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2020. The Packers signed him off the Indianapolis Colts’ practice squad last season. Something to watch.

Tonyan had a similar path to Green Bay, having initially being signed as an undrafted free agent by the Detroit Lions.

If Tonyan starts the season on the PUP list, the Packers could keep all four of Marcedes Lewis, Josiah Deguara, Dominique Dafney, and Davis. The Packers would then have a tough decision deciding who Tonyan replaces when he returns.

Without Davante Adams, we may see some more two-TE sets in 2022.
