The Green Bay Packers will become the final NFL team to play a regular season game in London when they ‘host’ the New York Giants.

Matt LaFleur’s team will give up one of their nine home games to play at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

Is this a game the Packers should win?

Last season

It was another miserable year for the Giants. They would finish the regular season with a 4-13 record. The team fired head coach Joe Judge and general manager Dave Gettleman at the end of the year.

The problems came mostly on offense. New York ranked No. 31 in total offense and also No. 31 in scoring offense, averaging just 15.2 points per game.

The Giants finished last in the NFC East. Only the Detroit Lions had a worse record in the NFC.

When is the game?

The Packers’ trip to London to play the Giants takes place in Week 5. It will be played at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 9 with an early kickoff time of 8:30 a.m. CT.

Offseason additions/departures

The Giants are, once again, in rebuild mode. They decided against making any big-money deals in free agency and instead looked for more affordable signings.

New York brought in guard Mark Glowinski and quarterback Tyrod Taylor.

The Giants lost Pro Bowl cornerback James Bradberry, tight end Evan Engram, and defensive lineman Austin Johnson in free agency.

New York made 11 selections in the 2022 NFL Draft, including two in the top seven. They picked edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux fifth overall and tackle Evan Neal seventh overall. Both could be future star players to build around.

Last meeting with Packers

December 1, 2019: Packers won 31-13 at MetLife Stadium

Player to watch

Kayvon Thibodeaux: If the Giants are to have any chance of upsetting the Packers, they will need their defense to make some plays. Can Thibodeaux make a fast start to his NFL career? The Packers will need to stop him from making a big impact in Week 5.
