The Green Bay Packers will host the New York Jets just seven days after playing in London.

Many teams have their bye week following an international game, but the Packers will instead get their week off later in the season.

Still, in a home game versus the Jets, Matt LaFleur’s team will be expected to win.

Last season

It was a tough season for the Jets, finishing with a 4-13 record.

But for all of the Jets’ problems, they came up with two impressive victories. One over the AFC’s top-seeded Tennessee Titans, the other over the Cincinnati Bengals, who represented the AFC in the Super Bowl.

It was always going to be a challenging first season for head coach Robert Saleh. They were at the start of a rebuild.

When is the game?

The Packers host the Jets in Week 6. Kickoff is noon CT on Sunday, Oct. 16.

Offseason additions/departures

The Jets were praised for putting together a strong class on paper.

They selected cornerback Sauce Gardner, wide receiver Garrett Wilson, and edge rusher Jermaine Johnson in the first round alone. All three could be important starters.

New York made some smart free agency moves, including the signings of Pro Bowl offensive lineman Laken Tomlinson and safety Jordan Whitehead.

Last meeting with Packers

December 23, 2018: Packers won 44-38 in overtime at MetLife Stadium

Player to watch

Jermaine Johnson: The Packers decided not to draft Johnson in the first round of the draft, despite needing more pass-rush depth.

The Jets gladly watched Johnson fall, and they traded back into the first round to pick him.

Much like when the Packers passed up on T.J. Watt, Johnson will be a player many are watching closely. Will Green Bay regret not picking him, or will Quay Walker show why he was the right choice at No. 22 overall?
