Green Bay Packers 2022 opponent preview: Philadelphia Eagles
The Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Rams, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are among the top contenders in the NFC this season.
But what about the Philadelphia Eagles?
Could the Eagles be a surprise contender in the conference? No matter what, this will be a tough road game for the Packers.
Last season
A 32-6 opening-day win over the Atlanta Falcons gave Eagles fans hope for a strong season, but three straight defeats to the San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, and Kansas City Chiefs seemingly put an end to that.
After a slow 3-6 start to the season, Philadelphia battled back with six wins from its final eight games.
With a 9-8 record, the Eagles secured the seventh seed in the NFC and a playoff berth. However, their season ended a week later with a 31-15 defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
When is the game?
Green Bay plays at Philadelphia on Sunday Night Football in Week 12. The game kicks off at 7:20 p.m. CT on Sunday, Nov. 27.
Offseason additions/departures
The Eagles’ biggest offseason move was trading for Pro Bowl wide receiver A.J. Brown.
The Eagles are loaded at wide receiver with Brown, DeVonta Smith, Jalen Reagor, and free-agent addition Zach Pascal.
The Eagles also signed Pro Bowl cornerback James Bradberry.
Philadelphia added talent in the draft, selecting defensive tackle Jordan Davis, center Cam Jurgens, and inside linebacker Nakobe Dean.
There is a lot to like about the Eagles’ offseason so far.
Last meeting with Packers
December 6, 2020: Packers won 30-16 at Lambeau Field
Player to watch
A.J. Brown: Brown is one of the best young wide receivers in the NFL. At his best, he can take over a game.
In their only game against Brown — when he played for the Titans — the Packers held him to 43 yards on four catches. They need a similar performance here and can’t let him dominate this game.
