Ten Green Bay Packers players who could be gone at the end of the 2022 season.

Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst has done a good job of maintaining a strong roster this offseason, despite all of the team’s salary cap issues.

However, there will be more big contract decisions to be made in the not-too-distant future.

The focus is now on preparing for the 2022 season, one where the Packers should be among the NFC’s top contenders.

But Gutekunst will need to make some tough decisions next spring. Which players could be gone after the 2022 season?

10. WR Sammy Watkins

Sammy Watkins has a huge opportunity in front of him this season. Head coach Matt LaFleur said that Watkins will be a “big part” of the offense.

There is no clear WR1 in Green Bay. If Watkins can quickly build a connection with Aaron Rodgers, he could be a starter in the Packers’ offense and have a bounce-back season.

However, Watkins has struggled to stay healthy in recent years and has just three touchdown catches since the start of 2020.

Watkins effectively signed a one-year, prove-it deal with the Packers. He has a great opportunity, but if he struggles, it’s unlikely he will return in 2023.

9. TE Marcedes Lewis

One of the unsung heroes in LaFleur’s offense in recent years, it’s great to see Marcedes Lewis returning this season.

Still among the top blocking tight ends in football, Lewis is effectively a sixth offensive lineman at times.

However, Lewis will turn 39 next May. He is also entering the final year of his contract.
