S Adrian Amos

Adrian Amos is entering his fourth year with the Packers. So far, he has made 49 starts in the regular season and never missed a game.

Amos is one of the best safeties in the league. He is strong in every area, both against the run and in coverage.

This offseason, Pro Football Focus ranked the best safeties in the NFL. Amos was put in the “All-Around Tier”, where he ranked first.

Amos has made 260 tackles, 25 pass defenses, and six interceptions over three seasons in Green Bay.

So, why might he be gone in 2023?

Amos’ contract is up at the end of the season. Considering how well he has played, there should be plenty of interest from other teams next spring. The Packers may struggle to compete.

He will also turn 30 years old next April. The Packers don’t typically offer multi-year deals to players around the age of 30.

The Packers picked up Darnell Savage’s fifth-year option, meaning he will be under contract through the 2023 season. In the meantime, they may look to draft Amos’ replacement to pair with Savage in 2023.

It would be great to see Amos sign a new deal in Green Bay — he deserves one. But there’s every chance the Packers move on.
