It seems as if every season, something historical happens whenever the Green Bay Packers play the Chicago Bears.

Aaron Rodgers won his lone Super Bowl after going into Chicago and beating the Bears in the NFC Championship game back in 2010.

In 2019, the Packers celebrated their 100th birthday by beating the Bears when Rodgers made the impressive comeback down 20-0 on one leg.

Oh, and how could I forget this past season when Rodgers officially purchased stock in Solider Field and the Bears when he yelled to the world the infamous “I still own you” while celebrating after a six-yard scramble for a touchdown.

But what about this coming season?

There are two things that have to occur before the week two game between the Packers and Bears for it to be a true historical matchup. The Packers are going into the 2022 NFL season one game behind the Bears in franchise all-time wins (Bears 783, Packers 782).

If the Packers can win their week one matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, which will be tough but doable, and the Bears lose their week one game against the San Francisco 49ers, then the week two matchup will be one for the ages.

If this occurs, the game between the Packers and Bears on Sunday Night Football will determine if the Bears will continue to hold onto the record for the most wins in NFL history of if the big bad bullies in the North, Green Bay, can finally take its place atop the most franchise wins in NFL history.

Since both teams would be at 783 all-time wins, the winner would become the first team to ever win 784 games in NFL history.

Regardless of if this happens or not, sometime this season the record will either be held or broken by one of these two historic franchises. But if the past few years have been any indication of how this year will go, Green Bay should finish off their 2022 regular season campaign as the franchise with the most wins all time.
