NFC predictions: NFC South

  1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  2. New Orleans Saints
  3. Carolina Panthers
  4. Atlanta Falcons

This is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ division and it won’t be all that close. Tom Brady’s return ensures the Buccaneers remain Super Bowl contenders, and they won’t face too many challenges en route to another NFC South title.

The Buccaneers’ offense could be the best in football.

Tom Brady was an MVP candidate last season, and they are stacked at wide receiver and deep along the offensive line. They also have no shortage of talent on defense.

Perhaps we will see a 2020 playoff rematch between the Packers and Buccaneers.

While the New Orleans Saints won’t challenge the Buccaneers for the division title, they could make a playoff push via a wild-card berth.

New Orleans will win with its defense. The Saints’ defense is seriously good at edge rusher and linebacker, and the addition of Tyrann Mathieu gives them one of the best secondaries in football.

As the Packers learned the hard way in Week 1 last year, the Saints can be tough to beat at their best.

The Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons are two teams trending in the wrong direction. Atlanta will be in contention for the first overall pick in next year’s draft after trading away former NFL MVP quarterback Matt Ryan.

A weak division could push the Bucs to the top seed in the conference and help the Saints’ playoff ambitions.
