NFC predictions: NFC North

  1. Green Bay Packers
  2. Minnesota Vikings
  3. Detroit Lions
  4. Chicago Bears

NFC North champions three years in a row, the Green Bay Packers will aim to keep their great run under Matt LaFleur going.

While the Packers could face some more competition from the Minnesota Vikings this season, the Vikings are still a work in progress as they transition to a new coaching staff.

Green Bay’s offense may take a step back after losing wide receivers Davante Adams and Marquez Valdes-Scantling, but they do still have Aaron Rodgers, which gives them a significant advantage at the position.

It’s on defense where the Packers can dominate. Green Bay’s defense should be considered a top-five unit with talent at every level. A defense led by Kenny Clark, De’Vondre Campbell, Rashan Gary, and Jaire Alexander is going to be a problem for the rest of the league.

The Vikings’ offense will test the Packers’ excellent defense. With Dalvin Cook, Justin Jefferson, and Adam Thielen, Minnesota’s offense is up there with the best of them.

Minnesota has also strengthened on defense, which should put the team back into wild-card contention.

The Detroit Lions are building the right away and have turned the offensive and defensive lines into strengths. They are still a long way off, however.

Detroit could overtake the Chicago Bears, a team that seems to have no direction. It’s hard to pick out one strength on this Bears team, especially after losing key defensive players Khalil Mack and Akiem Hicks.
