Cornerbacks (6)

Jaire Alexander, Eric Stokes, Rasul Douglas, Keisean Nixon, Kiondre Thomas, Shemar Jean-Charles

You could actually make a good case for only keeping five cornerbacks. The Packers have one of the best starting trios at the position in the league, but there is a concerning lack of depth behind them.

Keisean Nixon adds plenty of special teams value, but he played very few defensive snaps for the Las Vegas Raiders. Are Kiondre Thomas and Shemar Jean-Charles ready to step into starting roles if the Packers lose a player or two to injury?

Like edge rusher, Green Bay should consider adding a veteran cornerback to add some much-needed depth behind a quality top three.

Safeties (5)

Adrian Amos, Darnell Savage, Shawn Davis, Vernon Scott, Tariq Carpenter

A similar theme here. The Packers have a solid starting duo, but depth is the issue.

Shawn Davis currently appears to be the frontrunner for the number three job. He will be a player to watch in the next few weeks at training camp.

Tariq Carpenter provides some versatility to play at safety and inside linebacker. He is still listed as a safety on the Packers’ official website, so that is where he is included here.

Add safety to the list of positions where the Packers should look to sign a veteran for depth.
