Three players the Green Bay Packers shouldn’t have let go in recent offseasons.

Due to the salary cap, re-signing everyone in free agency is never a realistic possibility. For the most part, the Green Bay Packers make good decisions when it comes to moving on from players.

However, they are not always right. The Packers have made their share of mistakes over the years, including recently.

Green Bay has had tough decisions to make with star players in recent years. That included deciding the time to move on from Packers legends like Jordy Nelson and Clay Matthews.

In an ideal world, you draft and develop a player, they become a superstar, win a Super Bowl, then retire when the time is right having only played for the Packers. But that is rare.

Each year, every team has difficult decisions to make with its upcoming free agents.

This offseason saw Green Bay decide not to re-sign free agents Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Chandon Sullivan, and Lucas Patrick, while the team also released veterans Billy Turner and Za’Darius Smith.

Only time will tell which of those decisions they got right.

Which players should the Packers have kept? Here are three they shouldn’t have let go in recent years.
