The Green Bay Packers are the fourth-best team in the “Madden NFL 23” video game.

Each team’s overall rating has been revealed for this year’s game, with the Packers receiving a rating of 88.

For some perspective, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have the game’s highest rating at 92. The Buffalo Bills are next with an overall rating of 89, then the Los Angeles Rams and Packers on 88.

Green Bay’s offense ranks sixth with a rating of 86.

That’s understandable. While the Packers have the reigning back-to-back MVP at quarterback, a solid offensive line, and a dominant 1-2 punch at running back, there are concerns at wide receiver and tight end.

Green Bay’s defense ranks third with a rating of 87. The Bills and Rams are tied for the league lead with 88.

It’s not often that the offense has a lower overall rating than the defense, but it shows how things have changed in Green Bay.

While the offense should still be among the league’s best, the defense could now become the top unit on this team.

Unsurprisingly, special teams hurts the Packers’ overall rating.

Green Bay has a special teams rating of 68, which ties for the league’s worst along with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The hope is that the hiring of veteran special teams coach Rich Bisaccia will lead to some significant improvements in this phase of the game. But until we actually see it happen, it’s no surprise to see the Packers receive such a low rating for special teams.

Green Bay will be one of the best teams to play with in “Madden NFL 23”. With a highly-rated offense and defense, there aren’t too many weaknesses.

When you do play as the Packers, just try to avoid special teams where you can. Never punt, and go for two when you score a touchdown.

Never punting or kicking is a good idea when playing as the Packers in “Madden NFL 23”.
