Three potential surprise cuts for the Green Bay Packers this summer.

The road to the regular season begins for the Green Bay Packers this week as they open training camp. The first practice is set for Wednesday.

As we move closer to the start of the season, the Packers will get a better idea of how their 53-man roster will look in September.

Many players on the roster bubble will be competing for a spot. And that could lead to some surprises.

Surprise cuts happen around the league every year. We’ve seen a fair share in Green Bay over the years.

Former Pro Bowl defensive tackle Mike Daniels was surprisingly cut in July 2019.

Guard Josh Sitton was a three-time All-Pro and three-time Pro Bowler in Green Bay. In fact, he was coming off a second-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl year when the Packers cut him before the start of the 2016 season. It was a huge surprise at the time.

While we shouldn’t necessarily expect a star player on the level of Daniels or Sitton to get cut this summer, there could be a surprise or two.

With that in mind, let’s look at three players who could be surprise cuts this summer.
