7 bold predictions for the Packers training camp 2022
Seven bold predictions for the Green Bay Packers at training camp.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Today marks the start of training camp for the Green Bay Packers.
Isn’t it just the best? In front of us is all of training camp and the entire season. And what a journey this could be for the Packers.
Between now and the end of August, we’re going to learn a lot about this team. Which players stand out? Who could miss out on a spot on the 53-man roster? It’s all to play for.
So, it’s about that time to make some bold predictions about what lies ahead at training camp. I’ve got seven.
Tyler Goodson makes the Packers’ 53-man roster
Green Bay has a good track record of giving opportunities to undrafted rookies. Think Tramon Williams and Sam Shields. On the current roster, players like Allen Lazard and Robert Tonyan have gone from undrafted to starters.
Tyler Goodson could be the next undrafted rookie to make the 53-man roster.
At this stage, we don’t know Kylin Hill’s status for the start of the regular season. According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, Hill begins training camp on the PUP list as he continues to recover from a torn ACL.
In any case, Goodson has the potential to make an impact for the Packers.
According to Pro Football Focus, no Big 10 running back has more rushing yards than Goodson’s 2,560 since 2019.
NFL Spin Zone’s Sayre Bedinger believes the Packers have found a “big-time undrafted steal” in Goodson. Bedinger made a number of great points, including Goodson’s Relative Athletic Score of 9.54 out of 10. That’s impressive.
Goodson could turn heads this summer and punch his ticket to the 53-man roster.
