Five bold predictions for the Green Bay Packers in 2022.

Training camp is well underway, preseason is just around the corner and, in a little over a month, Green Bay Packers regular season football returns.

The Packers will enter the season as serious Super Bowl contenders.

But what can we expect from Matt LaFleur’s team in 2022?

Here are five bold predictions.

5. AJ Dillon puts up 1,000 yards rushing for the first time

AJ Dillon led the Packers in rushing last season but split the carries with Aaron Jones.

With Davante Adams and Marquez Valdes-Scantling gone, it could take some time for Aaron Rodgers to build a connection with the new wide receivers on the roster.

It will come as no surprise if a couple of things happen. One is that Matt LaFleur leans on the ground game more often. The other is that Aaron Jones is more involved as a receiver, potentially leading to more rushing opportunities for Dillon.

Dillon has shown he’s more than capable of leading the backfield. He averages 4.5 yards per attempt in his first two seasons.

He had over 1,000 yards from scrimmage in 2021. This year, I predict he’ll hit that milestone in rushing yards alone.

With the possibility of a greater emphasis being placed on the run game, as well as Jones’ reliability as a pass-catcher, Dillon could see more rushing opportunities, leading to his first 1,000-yard season.
