4. Packers defense ranks No. 1 in the NFL

The Packers’ defense could be very good this season. Like, one of the best defenses we’ve seen in Green Bay for a long time.

Games aren’t won on paper, but this defense doesn’t appear to have many weaknesses.

Multi-time Pro Bowler Kenny Clark leads a defensive line with great talent and depth. With a rotation of Dean Lowry, Jarran Reed, Devonte Wyatt, and T.J. Slaton, offensive lines won’t catch much of a break.

To make it even worse for opponents, they will also have to worry about the pass-rush duo of Rashan Gary and Preston Smith.

And it doesn’t get any easier at the other positions.

Inside linebacker is no longer a major weakness for the Packers. Far from it. De’Vondre Campbell returns from a first-team All-Pro season, and Green Bay also used its top draft pick on Quay Walker.

That’s not all. Green Bay enters 2022 with one of the league’s best secondaries.

At cornerback, All-Pro and Pro Bowler Jaire Alexander is healthy. He is joined by second-year Eric Stokes, who showed Pro Bowl potential as a rookie, and also Rasul Douglas, who led the Packers with five interceptions last season and was compared to Charles Woodson by Aaron Rodgers this week.

The Packers also have an excellent safety combination of Adrian Amos and Darnell Savage.

There aren’t many weaknesses on this defense. They can shut down both the run and pass, and could end the 2022 season ranked No. 1 in the NFL.
