Running backs (3)

Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon, Tyler Goodson

PUP: Kylin Hill

For now, I have the Packers going with just three running backs on the initial 53-man roster. They can always promote a player from the practice squad if they need added depth.

If Kylin Hill is cleared to return from injury before Week 1, he could also make the 53. If not, he may begin the regular season on the PUP list.

Tyler Goodson has been impressive so far this summer and deserves a spot on the roster. Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon likely won’t play much, if at all, during the preseason. A good performance in those games could secure Goodson’s spot on the 53.

Wide receivers (7)

Allen Lazard, Sammy Watkins, Romeo Doubs, Randall Cobb, Christian Watson, Amari Rodgers, Samori Toure

Romeo Doubs’ impressive training camp has grabbed the headlines, and for good reason. He doesn’t look like a player who will need a few years to develop. Doubs looks ready to contribute to this offense immediately.

Allen Lazard has impressed as the top target in Matt LaFleur’s offense, while Sammy Watkins has made some plays since returning from injury.

We’re yet to see Christian Watson on the practice field, but his return from injury will only strengthen the wide receiver corps.
