2. Up-and-down night for Jordan Love

It was a familiar story for quarterback Jordan Love. There were some encouraging moments and some concerning ones. For every great play, there was a disappointing one.

However, this is a game where we can’t look at the box score. That shows three interceptions for Love, but that is incredibly harsh.

The first pick was on tight end Tyler Davis. Davis failed to bring in a routine catch, leading to an interception. The second was a pass Romeo Doubs was unable to hold on to.

The third looked far worse, although head coach Matt LaFleur said two receivers ran the wrong route.

So there we go. It’s perhaps unfair to put any of the three interceptions on Love.

There were some encouraging moments. Love’s two touchdowns were on the money. He found Romeo Doubs for a 33-yard score, and connected with Danny Davis for another 33-yard touchdown. Both throws showed Love’s talent.

However, the former first-round pick also missed a bunch of simple short passes.

Love’s consistency and accuracy are concerns, which was true in his first two seasons.

As we’ve seen a lot from previous Love performances, it was an up-and-down night. He did a lot very well, but also made too many mistakes.
