Packers 53-man roster predictions ahead of final preseason game
Tight ends (3)
Robert Tonyan, Marcedes Lewis, Josiah Deguara
This feels set. Robert Tonyan and Marcedes Lewis are the Packers’ starters at tight end, while Josiah Deguara provides depth.
Despite all of the offseason praise Tyler Davis received, he has really struggled this summer. After a drop became an interception last week, he fumbled and got called for a costly penalty on Friday night against the Saints.
Davis needs to finish the summer strong, or the Packers may go with just three tight ends to begin the season.
Offensive linemen (9)
Yosh Nijman, Jon Runyan, Josh Myers, Royce Newman, Elgton Jenkins, Zach Tom, Jake Hanson, Sean Rhyan, Caleb Jones
PUP: David Bakhtiari
Elgton Jenkins’ return will be huge for the offense, and it started with him being activated from the PUP list. What we don’t know is when to expect David Bakhtiari back. In the meantime, he remains on the PUP list.
Assuming Jenkins is ready to go in Week 1, it seems the starting five will be Yosh Nijman, Jon Runyan, Josh Myers, Royce Newman, and Jenkins.
Zach Tom and Jake Hanson remain in contention for starting jobs.
The Packers have a solid starting five and plenty of depth. The offensive line is in good shape as we near the start of the regular season.
