Week 1 of the 2022 season is here. What are the four biggest concerns for the Green Bay Packers this year?

The Green Bay Packers aim to take a step forward this season and return to the Super Bowl.

They have an excellent roster that looks capable of getting there. A deep, talented defense, along with an Aaron Rodgers-led offense is a recipe for success.

However, there are some concerns for the Packers entering the new season.

Green Bay kicks off its campaign against the Minnesota Vikings next Sunday. What are the four biggest concerns for the Packers in 2022?

Special teams

Special teams repeatedly cost the Packers throughout the 2021 season. Often, they got away with it due to the play of their offense and defense. That wasn’t the case in the divisional round.

In a low-scoring game, Green Bay made one too many special teams errors, a blocked punt resulting in a touchdown beginning the downfall.

Unfortunately, we’ve seen precious few signs of improvement during the preseason. Yes, it’s only preseason, but it’s still concerning. Even under new coordinator Rich Bisaccia, many of last season’s special teams issues appeared to be there still.

Perhaps in a regular season game where Bisaccia has his best lineup out there, we’ll see a difference. But kick and punt coverage remains a real worry, as does finding success in the return game.

Until they prove themselves in this phase of the game, special teams will continue to be a concern.
