Where are Packers in power rankings for Week 1 of 2022 season?
The Green Bay Packers are sixth in NFL Spin Zone’s season-opening power rankings.
It’s September. Months of football-less Sundays are a thing of the past. As the summer fades away, Green Bay Packers football returns.
Matt LaFleur’s team couldn’t ask for a more challenging game to open up the season as they visit the division-rival Minnesota Vikings on the road.
U.S. Bank Stadium has proven to be a tricky venue for the Packers in recent years, with the exception of victories in 2019 and 2020, the latter coming with no fans in the stadium.
The Packers will need to start fast, unlike in their season-opening defeat to the New Orleans Saints a year ago. It will be a good test for LaFleur’s team.
With Week 1 finally here, it’s time for the opening NFL Spin Zone power rankings of the season by Randy Gurzi.
Where do Packers rank in NFL Spin Zone Week 1 power rankings?
Gurzi has the Packers sixth in the power rankings for Week 1. They are the third-ranked team in the NFC, with the Los Angeles Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers ahead of them.
And that makes sense.
The Rams are defending Super Bowl champions with a roster set to compete for back-to-back titles. The Buccaneers continue to go from strength to strength. Tom Brady is back and the Buccaneers have a roster without many weaknesses.
Green Bay has plenty of questions to answer, such as whether the offense can continue to play at a high level without All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams.
It should be a close battle in the NFC, and Green Bay will rise up these power rankings if it can start the season well, especially with road games against the Vikings and Buccaneers in the opening three weeks.
