Packers: Power ranking NFC North position groups in 2022 season
With the 2022 season set to begin this week, we look at areas the Green Bay Packers have an advantage over their divisional rivals in our positional power rankings.
Winners of three straight NFC North titles, the Green Bay Packers are the team to beat in the NFC North.
But which positions are the Packers strongest at compared to their rivals, and where do the other NFC North teams have the advantage?
We’ll cover each position group on offense and defense in these rankings, starting with the quarterbacks.
Quarterbacks
1. Packers
It’s advantage Green Bay at quarterback. Not only do the Packers have the reigning back-to-back MVP in Aaron Rodgers, but they also have former first-round pick Jordan Love backing him up. Love showed significant improvements to his game in the preseason.
2. Vikings
Kirk Cousins might not be a top-tier quarterback, but he’s clearly a very good starter. His numbers were excellent in 2021, throwing for 4,221 yards, 33 touchdowns, and only seven interceptions.
3. Bears
It’s all on Justin Fields. If he can make the second-year jump, the Bears’ offense can make some big improvements in 2022. Trevor Siemian is a solid backup.
4. Lions
Jared Goff limited his turnovers last season, throwing just eight interceptions, but he also had only 19 touchdown passes.
