Inside linebackers

1. Packers

The Packers have gone from strength to strength at inside linebacker this offseason. Following a first-team All-Pro season, the Packers signed De’Vondre Campbell to a new five-year contract. They also drafted Quay Walker 22nd overall in April, and he impressed in the preseason.

Krys Barnes is a solid third option, while second-year Isaiah McDuffie was outstanding over the summer.

2. Vikings

The Vikings also have an excellent starting duo at inside linebacker, with former Pro Bowler and All-Pro Eric Kendricks and new signing Jordan Hicks. Minnesota also added third-round pick Brian Asamoah this offseason. The middle of the defense should again be a strength for the Vikings.

3. Bears

The Bears may have lost some key players on defense this offseason, but they still have star inside linebacker Roquan Smith, who has been named a second-team All-Pro in each of the past two seasons. Linebacker remains a position of strength for the Bears on defense.

4. Lions

This is where the Lions’ defense could really struggle. There is a huge gap at inside linebacker between the Lions and the rest of the division. While they have strengthened other areas of their defense, opposing offenses may target the middle of the field when playing the Lions.
