Following their disappointing defeat to the Minnesota Vikings, here are three moves the Green Bay Packers need to make moving forward.

The Green Bay Packers didn’t turn up in their season opener, but the good news is there are many more games to come.

Like last year, the Packers will have plenty of opportunities to put it right.

But they must learn from some of their mistakes and continue to improve. With that in mind, here are three moves the Packers need to make after their Week 1 loss.

3. Start Zach Tom

This one is simple. Green Bay should make this change in Week 2 against the Chicago Bears.

Jake Hanson got the start at right guard but struggled. One of his worst plays saw Za’Darius Smith run right through him, pushing Hanson back into the quarterback.

Rookie Zach Tom made a solid start to his NFL career at left guard, filling in for an injured Jon Runyan Jr. The Packers ran Tom’s way with good success.

Even when Runyan returns, Tom needs to be in the starting five, replacing Hanson.

If Elgton Jenkins remains out in Week 2, the Packers could have Royce Newman move back to right guard, where he played last season. Tom can then shift over to right tackle. He has the positional versatility to line up at multiple spots.

If Green Bay prefers Newman at tackle, Tom should replace Hanson at right guard.
