Christian Watson has 100+ yards and a touchdown
Christian Watson dropped a potential 75-yard touchdown in the first quarter of Week 1. It would’ve been the dream start to his NFL career.
But that’s gone now. Watson actually did a lot right in the season opener. He showed off his blazing speed and athleticism, and also regularly got open.
Per NFL Next Gen Stats, Watson averaged 4.78 yards of separation in Week 1. He was also the fastest ball carrier of the game, clocking 20.82mph.
With his speed and ability to separate, it’s only a matter of time before the big plays arrive. He burned Patrick Peterson and had nothing but green grass in front of him last week. Make the catch, and it’s a highlight-reel touchdown.
There will be many more opportunities throughout the season, starting this week against the Bears.
While it will take some time for Watson to build a connection with Aaron Rodgers, the four-time MVP continues to show confidence in the young receiver.
Aaron Rodgers is optimistic rookie WRs Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs will develop: "These are good kids. They really are. They want to please, they want to do the right thing, they care about it. I'm going to figure out a way to continue to get on the same frequency with them"

When they get on the same page, look out.
As we saw last week, it only takes one moment and Watson can make a game-changing play.
Whether it’s a deep shot, a combination of gadget plays, or both, the Packers are going to get the ball into Watson’s hands. And when that happens, it will be bad news for the Bears’ defense.
