The Green Bay Packers have two key starters returning to the lineup in Week 2 versus the Chicago Bears.

Ready for some great news? Here it is: Elgton Jenkins and Allen Lazard are back.

The Green Bay Packers announced their inactives ahead of their Week 2 showdown with the division-rival Chicago Bears.

All-Pro tackle David Bakhtiari remains out, but the Packers do get Pro Bowl offensive lineman Jenkins and wide receiver Lazard back.

Jenkins will likely start at right tackle, with Yosh Nijman continuing to cover at left tackle while Bakhtiari is out.

Lazard gets his first regular season opportunity as the new Packers WR1.

After a disappointing performance from the offense in the season opener, getting Lazard back should help open up the passing attack. Aaron Rodgers trusts Lazard and won’t hesitate to throw his way early and often.

Of course, the protection up front needs to be better, too. Getting a superstar lineman like Jenkins back in the lineup is huge.

A starting five of Nijman, Jon Runyan, Josh Myers, Zach Tom, and Jenkins would look significantly better than the Week 1 starters, although it’s unclear which five head coach Matt LaFleur will go with tonight.

This is an important game for both teams tonight.

The visiting Bears are coming off an impressive victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1. They have a chance to prove they are for real on Sunday night.

It could be a must-win for the Packers, coming off a poor performance in the season opener. Falling to 0-2 with two divisional losses is far from ideal, especially with a road game at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers up next.

Green Bay needs to win. Getting Elgton Jenkins and Allen Lazard back in the lineup will make a huge difference for the Packers’ offense in tonight’s divisional matchup.
