The Green Bay Packers already have a huge advantage ahead of next week’s game.

One of the toughest games on the schedule awaits the Green Bay Packers in Week 3.

Up next, the Packers hit the road to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are undefeated after two games.

However, the Buccaneers will be without one of their star players in Sunday’s game.

Packers take on Bucs without Mike Evans in Week 3

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Buccaneers star wide receiver Mike Evans has been suspended for one game, which means he won’t play against the Packers.

This is significant news, as Evans has been Tom Brady’s top target over the past couple of seasons.

The four-time Pro Bowler is one of the league’s most talented and consistent wide receivers, having put up 1,000+ receiving yards in each of his eight career seasons.

With Brady at quarterback, Evans has taken his game to another stratosphere. Since the start of the 2020 season, Evans has made 152 catches for 2,173 yards and 28 touchdowns.

But he will not be available on Sunday against the Packers, giving Joe Barry’s defense one less problem.

It could leave Tampa Bay short at wide receiver. Along with Evans’ suspension, the Buccaneers could also be without Chris Godwin and Julio Jones. Both players missed Week 2 due to injury.

Consider this a major advantage for the Packers.

While Green Bay’s defense hasn’t been perfect through two weeks, we’ve seen a lot of good things from Barry’s unit.

The Buccaneers have struggled offensively, averaging just 19.5 points per game after two weeks.

Tampa Bay has won with defense and leaned on the run game.

This will still be an incredibly challenging game for the Packers and a potentially low-scoring matchup. The Buccaneers have a dominant defense but have struggled offensively.

However, Evans’ suspension is huge news ahead of this Week 3 showdown.
