Matt LaFleur’s incredible record of never losing consecutive regular season games continued in Week 2 as the Green Bay Packers defeated the Chicago Bears.

It was a better performance than in the season opener, but it was far from a perfect game for the Packers.

Following the win, let’s hand out the grades.

Packers offense: B-

It was all about Aaron Jones on Sunday night. He dominated the Bears’ defense with 170 total yards and two touchdowns. Whether on the ground or as a receiver, Chicago couldn’t stop him.

The Packers found the end zone three times, two from the arm of Aaron Rodgers. They also rushed for over 200 yards.

So, why only a B-?

This game had the makings of a blowout victory, but Green Bay’s offense caused its own downfall. They could only add three points in the second half, but the offense was moving down the field just fine.

A fumble on the exchange between Rodgers and AJ Dillon resulted in a turnover, then Josh Myers snapped the ball too quickly to effectively end the next drive.

The reason the Packers didn’t score more points? The Packers.

Packers defense: B

Against the pass, Green Bay dominated. Justin Fields finished 7/11 for 70 yards with no touchdowns and one interception. According to Pro Football Focus, Green Bay finished the game with 10 pressures.

Preston Smith had two sacks and three quarterback hits.

However, defending the run remained an issue. The Bears rushed for 180 yards and a touchdown on 27 attempts, averaging 6.7 yards per carry.

Packers special teams: B+

Wow, a B+ for the special teams? What a time to be alive.

Mason Crosby was perfect on his five kicks, converting both field goals and three extra-point tries. Pat O’Donnell averaged 61 yards from his two punts, including one ending inside the 20-yard line.

Amari Rodgers had a 20-yard punt return, and Green Bay’s kick and punt coverage was solid.

No major issues on special teams for the second week in a row, and it was actually a good performance on fourth down for Green Bay.
