Green Bay Packers cornerbacks Jaire Alexander and Rasul Douglas are among Pro Football Focus’ highest-graded players in coverage after two games.

The Green Bay Packers have one of the best cornerback trios in the NFL, and Jaire Alexander and Rasul Douglas have made an impressive start to the season.

Alexander and Douglas both landed new deals this past offseason, and they are already showing why.

The Packers’ cornerbacks haven’t taken long to reach their best form.

Packers: Jaire Alexander and Rasul Douglas earn high PFF grades

Pro Football Focus posted the four cornerbacks with the highest coverage grades through two weeks, and that includes Alexander and Douglas.

Darius Slay is the highest-graded cornerback in coverage through two weeks, earning a coverage grade of 86.9. He is closely followed by the New York Jets’ D.J. Reed Jr. at 86.3.

Next on the list? Rasul Douglas, with a coverage grade of 83.2. Then comes Jaire Alexander with a coverage grade of 81.7.

According to Pro Football Reference, Douglas has only given up 14 receiving yards this season, working out at 2.8 yards per completion. Even when passes have been completed in his coverage, they haven’t gained many yards.

Alexander sealed last week’s win over the Chicago Bears with an impressive interception. Along with the pick, he has made one pass defense.

Quarterbacks don’t target Alexander often. When they do, it’s usually a bad idea.

According to Pro Football Reference, quarterbacks have a passer rating of just 28.0 in Alexander’s coverage this season. He has allowed just three completions on seven targets.

It’s a surprise the Packers didn’t have Alexander follow Justin Jefferson in Week 1. He is a lockdown cornerback and is playing at an elite level so far this season.

Alexander and Douglas have started the season well, showing why the Packers gave them new deals earlier this year.
