The Green Bay Packers held on for a crucial victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3. Here are the top six takeaways from the win.

Was it always pretty? No. Will the Green Bay Packers care? Not one bit.

It promised to be a defensive showdown in a heavyweight battle between two of the conference’s best teams. And that’s exactly what we got.

In previous years, the Packers may not have been up for the fight. On Sunday afternoon, they showed their ability to win low-scoring games, closing out a tough win.

What are the top six takeaways from the game?

The Packers have a defense

Green Bay lost Jaire Alexander early in the game due to injury, but that’s the only negative of the day on defense.

After a summer of hype for the Packers’ defense, they lived up to it on Sunday.

The run defense struggled in the opening two games, but not today. The Bucs wanted to run the football but simply couldn’t, putting up just 34 yards on the ground at 2.4 yards per attempt.

The secondary held up and prevented many significant gains through the air.

Tom Brady had his moments. He always does. But when it mattered most, the Packers’ defense stepped up.

They sacked Brady three times, forced two turnovers, and held the Buccaneers to 12 points. A job well done.
