Stock up, stock down for Packers after Week 3 win vs. Bucs
The Green Bay Packers entered as underdogs, but they left with an impressive road win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3.
Winning on the road is never easy, especially against a top team like the Buccaneers. Who knows how important that victory could prove to be in January?
A vital win, yes, but a perfect performance? Far from it.
Whose stock is rising and falling for the Packers entering Week 4?
Stock up: Quay Walker
Quay Walker is living up to the expectations of a first-round pick. He had another great performance in Week 3, making five tackles and forcing a fumble at a crucial moment in the game.
Walker has already made some impressive plays. Just imagine how good he will be later in the season.
Stock down: Packers’ offense
After a red-hot start from the offense, it all fell apart following Aaron Jones’ fumble. Had it not been for a dominant defensive performance, the Packers would have left Raymond James Stadium with a defeat.
Green Bay is averaging just 16 points per game and has been held to 14 or fewer points in two of its opening three games.
There’s work to be done.
Stock up: Romeo Doubs
But there were positives on offense, most notably the play of rookie wide receiver Romeo Doubs.
He continued to show his ability to gain separation, while catching all eight of his targets for a team-best 73 yards and a touchdown.
Doubs continues to impress.
Stock down: Ability to protect the football
The Packers are usually so efficient with the football, but they have now given it away five times this season.
They turned it over twice on Sunday, the first a fumble by Aaron Jones, and then an Aaron Rodgers interception.
Stock up: Keisean Nixon
When Jaire Alexander left the game due to injury, Keisean Nixon stepped in and impressed. He had seven tackles, forced a fumble, and made one of the best plays of the day on special teams, downing a punt on the one-yard line.
It’s easy to see why the Packers signed Nixon this past offseason. He has made a huge difference on special teams but also showed he can help the defense.
