Romeo Doubs catches two touchdowns

With Sammy Watkins on injured reserve, Romeo Doubs finally got an increased opportunity on offense, and he delivered. Aaron Rodgers fired Doubs’ way eight times, and the rookie wide receiver caught each of them for 73 yards and a touchdown.

This comes after an impressive training camp and preseason for Doubs, who regularly showed the ability to gain separation and win 50/50 balls. He was catching touchdowns for fun over the summer, and he scored his first in the regular season last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

As long as Doubs keeps playing well, he will only continue to gain Rodgers’ trust.

With Watkins out again this week and Watson’s status uncertain as he recovers from a hamstring injury, Doubs should be in line for a significant role again.

Doubs knows how to find the end zone. He caught 20 touchdowns in his final two seasons at Nevada. He made two touchdown catches in his first preseason with the Packers and now has his first regular season touchdown.

Green Bay could dominate time of possession on Sunday and should have plenty of opportunities to get into the red zone.

I predict that Rodgers keeps looking Doubs’ way, and the talented rookie receiver catches two touchdowns against the Patriots.
